Boulton Earns First Triumph of the Season in Borrowed Sprint Car

Inside Line Promotions – WEST MEMPHIS, Ark. (Aug. 27, 2020) – Tucker Boulton recently accomplished a goal that looked to be sidelined only a few weeks ago. In doing so, he built confidence that he can take into the rest of the season as well as next year.

Roughly a month ago Boulton crashed his family owned 305ci sprint car and thought he was left without an opportunity to race. Things turned around after a team offered up a newer car. So much so that the 17-year-old driver put the car in Victory Lane on Aug. 15 at Riverside International Speedway.

“It’s great,” he said. “To go out after tearing up our car and get in a car that someone is letting us use, it was awesome to earn a victory.”

The triumph instilled plenty of confidence and that kept rising when Boulton recently received his new J&J Chassis for the 2021 season.

Boulton and his family plan to have a 360 sprint car engine and use the new chassis to take the next step in the young driver’s career. There is no set schedule in place, but the plan is to travel more than in past years.

“I can’t wait,” said Boulton, who was off last weekend. “I’m super stoked. We are going to have a brand new motor that was never run before.

“It really helps going out to Riverside on your off week to watch and the same exact car you just bought goes out there and dominates. We got to watch and see it happen last Saturday, and it brings a lot of confidence and excitement for next year.”

For now, Boulton is focused on the next race on his schedule, which is Saturday’s Jim Huffman Memorial at Riverside International Speedway.

“I can’t wait,” he said. “We had a whole extra week to work on the car and make sure everything is right on it. We are going to go out as confident as we did last time and go get it done.”
