Inside Line Promotions – BRIGHTON, Tenn. (Feb. 25, 2020) – Tucker Boulton recently wrapped up 2019 in a positive light as he was honored during a pair of banquets this month.

Boulton, who is a 17-year-old honor student, garnered the Riverside International Speedway Rookie of the Year Award and a third-place finish in the championship standings of the 305ci winged sprint car division during the track’s banquet on Feb. 2. Most notably, Boulton was named the recipient of the 2nd annual Greg Hodnett Pursuing Excellence Award – the most meaningful honor of his career.

“It’s really awesome to win that award, which is given for actions on and off the track,” Boulton said. “We’ve paid a lot of attention to Greg Hodnett so it means a lot to be selected for an award named in his honor. Greg had a great impact on the sport not only in the Mid-South, but throughout the country.”

Boulton participated in the Mid-South Sprint Car Association banquet last Sunday. He was the series Rookie of the Year Award winner and placed second in the championship standings.

The strong year in 2019 led to the stout points finishes and the meaningful award as well as an opportunity to step into a 360ci winged sprint car in 2020 for veteran car owner Bobby Sparks. The duo recently announced they are tackling the ASCS Mid-South Region and other select events with Boulton filling in his schedule with races in his family owned No. 74 sprint car.

“My preparation is to be working out to get ready for the race season,” he said. “I’m putting forth the effort to get my body and mind ready. I’ve always gotten in shape and worked out because I think that’s key for success. I’ve also been studying video to learn from my mistakes to try to get better.”

Boulton plans to kick off the season March 21 at Riverside International Speedway.
